The trailer for Adam Sandler's 'Leo' is here

The first trailer for Netflix‘s upcoming animated comedy Leo has finally been released, which showcases Adam Sandler and comedian Bill Burr lending their vocal talents to two elementary school reptiles.

Produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison company and directed by Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel, and David Wachtenheim, Leo follows a 74-year-old pet lizard (played by Sandler) who experiences a ‘midlife’ crisis on his birthday.

After deciding to escape his cage, which he shares with a grumpy tortoise called Squirtle (played by Burr), Leo embarks on an epic and moving adventure that sees him acting as a therapist to the peculiar fifth-grade students in his classroom.

The official synopsis reads: “Actor and comedian Adam Sandler (Hotel TransylvaniaThe Wedding Singer) delivers signature laughs in this coming-of-age animated musical comedy about the last year of elementary school – as seen through the eyes of a class pet.

When he learns he only has one year left to live, he plans to escape to experience life on the outside but instead gets caught up in the problems of his anxious students — including an impossibly mean substitute teacher. It ends up being the strangest but most rewarding bucket list ever…”

The cast also includes Jason Alexander of Seinfeld fame, Sandler regular Rob Schnieder, Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong, as well as Nicholas Turturro, Robert Smigel, Jo Koy, Stephanie Hsu, Nick Swardson and Heidi Gardener.

The film was co-written by Sandler and features his wife, Jackie, and two daughters, Sunny and Sadie, turning in vocal cameos as well. Leo follows after Sandler’s previous comedy, Murder Mystery 2, and will be released exclusively on Netflix on November 21st, 2023. Watch the trailer below.
