The only survival thriller on Netflix to watch over the weekend: ‘Fall’

On the lookout for something intense on your Netflix watchlist to keep you company over the weekend? Well, you couldn’t have chosen a better time since Fall just landed on the platform on February 18th.

Directed by Scott Mann, Fall brings the edge-of-your-seat kind of stuff that will make you fear the heights even if you didn’t have vertigo to begin with.

The survival thriller movie, currently streaming on Netflix US, stars Carolina Currey and Virginia Gardner as two best friends who embark on an ambitious climb, 2,000 feet to the top of an abandoned radio tower, only to get trapped with no way down and nothing in proximity to call for help.

In such a do-or-die situation, all they have and can rely on is each other and their expert climbing skills. But the question is: is it enough to save them?

Fall tells the story of Becky Connor, a married woman who loves to climb, as do her husband, Dan, and best friend, Hunter. One day, as the trio set out for a climb on a towering cliff face, a bat caught Dan off guard while flying out of a crevice just as he was securing the anchor. What happens next changes Becky’s seemingly idyllic life forever.

Becky soon recoils from climbing, and the trauma triggers a year-long depression, isolating herself while grappling with the harder truths of reality. However, it’s not just her who is hurting. Hunter can barely pull herself up after seeing her best friend’s condition. As a result, she comes up with a new climb idea to try and get Becky back out in the real world.

Although Becky isn’t in on the idea initially, upon remembering Dan’s indomitable spirit, she accepts the offer, acknowledging that it’s about time she confronts her fears. So, together, they head to the dessert. The plan is simple on the pages: climbing a creaky 2,000-foot radio tower that has been out of service for years. But as it turns out, climbing up isn’t the hardest part; it’s getting back down.

While Becky and Hunter go ahead with the climb in an attempt to evade existing fears, a new challenge comes to the spotlight as their fate hangs in the balance. With no way to go down, scarcity of supplies, and nothing on the radar to get help, it’s safe to say that what was supposed to be the easiest climb of their lives has turned into a living nightmare.

So, do Becky and Hunter finally conquer the nightmares? If so, then how? Well, to find out, you need to start streaming Fall on Netflix because otherwise, it’s the spoilers that will be doing the answering on your behalf.
