The only Netflix show to watch if you can’t get ‘Beauty In Black’ out of your mind
Come on now, you are still thinking about Beauty in Black, aren’t you? Well, who isn’t?
It turns out season two of this Netflix show was better than our expectations because it served big time. We saw Kimmie getting straight into the Bellarie family’s power struggle and gaining power. This lady found out their secrets, especially about their illegal work and how they control people, and it was a good turn of events.
Sadly, now you are in that annoying phase where everything else is missing the mark because the show set the expectations too high. Now you also want ambition and tension because regular drama just feels flat. So instead of going in circles trying to find your next watch, it’s time to press play on Dynasty, because this Netflix show is exactly what you need to scratch the itch.
Right from episode one, it throws you into the Carrington family, and this is not a peaceful household. We have our lead, Fallon Carrington, walking in expecting a big role in her father’s company, because in her mind, that position already has her name on it.
One thing you need to know about Fallon is that this woman does not wait around for approval, nor is she interested in playing second to anyone. She expected to take control of her father’s company, and that’s all Fallon cares about. And why not? Her father, Blake, runs a massive energy empire, and Fallon sees herself as the natural successor. Seems like all we need is Fallon’s confidence and clarity in life.
Just as the premise sets in, we watch Blake making a move that throws everything off balance. He announces he is marrying Cristal, a woman already working inside his company. Just like that, Fallon is dealing with more than business rivalry. All her dreams get shattered after just one announcement.
And that’s how the show begins. From that point on, everything starts moving fast. What begins as tension inside the family soon turns into boardroom battles and massive rivalries. More importantly, nobody is playing fair in this game. And this is where it really connects if Beauty in Black is still on your mind.
That’s because you are still watching people chase power. You are still seeing relationships getting tested the moment ambition enters the picture. Kimmie had to force her way into a space that never made room for her, while Fallon already belongs to that world but still has to fight to control it. It’s the contrast that makes things even more interesting.
When it comes to the cast, Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon has done an excellent job in showing the sharpness and confidence that are required for her role. Grant Show as Blake, on the other hand, brings a sort of authority that balances Fallon’s energy perfectly.
Cristal, first played by Nathalie Kelley and later by Daniella Alonso, might be her dad’s new wife, but she is more than just a secondary character.
Just like Beauty in Black, people act first and deal with consequences later, keeping the tension and twists coming in every episode. Ambition is driving the show, and we are here for it.
So yeah, if Beauty in Black season two is still playing in your head and nothing else is coming close, stop overthinking it and start Dynasty. You already know you are going to.
