The one thing to remember before watching ‘Wednesday’ season two
There were many gory takeaways from the first time Wednesday came on Netflix screens. From the rich Addams Family Easter eggs to devils hiding in plain sight, the Netflix series had a new twist waiting for fans at every kerb. Now that Wednesday hurtles towards its second season, it’s only natural that fans are craving a recap after a three-year gap.
But there’s one particular thing fans should remember, especially before tuning into season two. If Wednesday taught fans anything in the first season, it’s to believe less in what you see. But then, the Netflix series showed them things not even a three-year gap can make them forget.
By now, everyone is well aware of the abilities Wednesday possesses as an outcast. What began as futuristic visions, passed down somewhat matrilineally from the Addams family matriarch, turned out to be psychic and telepathic.
While it helped her get to the roots of the threat looming over Nevermore, Wednesday concluded with a creepy revelation, signalling a calm before the storm. It was already a surprise to see the socially challenged character using a brand-new phone in the final episodes. But what was more surprising was the text from an unknown number that read, “I’m watching you.”
Even eerier than the text was the emoji and the pictures attached. Captured evidently without Wednesday’s consent, the snaps showed Wednesday with Tyler and Xavier on two separate occasions. The fact that they were also clicked from a rather close distance was enough to raise eyebrows.
The idea of a stalker laid the groundwork for a follow-up season, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. And now that fans are closer than ever to the second instalment, they can finally hope for some closure to the tease.
So long, several fan theories speculated that the stalker could be someone from the premises of the Nevermore Academy. But now that fans have had the recap, one can hope that Wednesday season two will answer who this threat really is, who has been peeking from the start.
