The one thing Jenna Ortega wants from ‘Wednesday’ season three
No matter where Wednesday takes you this season, always remember, there’s more. Netflix renewed the black comedy series before the sophomore season was released. And now that the first part is done and dusted, the Wednesday actor has revealed the one thing she wants from season three of the hit Netflix series.
On July 27th, Netflix gave Wednesday the green light for season three just when the world was anticipating the return of their favourite anti-hero with the then-impending season two. Speaking of the third season renewal, co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar promised to double up the thrills in every aspect.
“Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Gough explained to Tudum. While the second season already made the Addams family members regulars at Nevermore, with family secrets spilling faster than Wednesday’s black tears, season three will up the ante with more members, revealing more skeletons in the closet.
In a recent separate conversation with Tudum, Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers sat down to interview each other. Ortega was the first to pitch the question about the one thing she really wants from season three. “I actually do like the idea of going abroad for a mystery,” she said. And when Myers threw back the question to Ortega, she had a rather deep response.
“I would like to see the Addams family dealing with a bit less conflict. They’re a happy family,” the Netflix protagonist revealed. The matrilineal tension has been at a peak since the first season. First, it was Wednesday vs Morticia. And now, spoiler alert: it’s Morticia vs Hester Frump, AKA Wednesday’s Grandmama.
“I would love for them to just be the happy, disgusting, off-putting family that we know and love for a bit,” Ortega added. While the co-creators already teased a more profound presence of the Addams family characters in season three, it remains to be seen whether her desires come to fruition.
Once season two’s part two comes to a close, viewers might be able to speculate which route Wednesday takes thereafter. For now, there’s much more chaos to address as Wednesday’s life hangs in the balance in what’s to come.
