The new shows arriving on Netflix this month
October is typically a month that sees horror dominates the conversation and the viewing habits of streaming subscribers around the world, but Netflix is going all-out with a bumper month that features the return of some of the streaming service’s biggest shows.
There are heavy hitters on their way to the content library on an almost daily basis, ensuring that viewing figures are guaranteed to be through the roof by the time the dust settles on the 31st. Whether it’s live-action, animation, documentary, drama, romance, or comedy; it’s all present and accounted for.
The seventh season of Love is Blind ticks the reality TV box, while the return of Unsolved Mysteries scratches the itch for true crime. What about Keanu Reeves? Yep, he’s there, too, guest-starring in the second season of Ancient Apocalypse.
Some of the most anticipated new arrivals include fresh seasons for such notable Netflix originals as Heartstopper, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, and Outer Banks, while Korean horror favourite Hellbound is on its way back to plunge genre fans back into a world where demonic entities run amok.
Quite frankly, Netflix users are going to struggle to find the time to make their way through the highest-profile newcomers in October, which extends to Hayley Atwell voicing the title character in the animated video game adaptation Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and the second instalment of Simone Biles Rising following the legendary gymnast at the recent Olympic games.
Legacy titles are well-represented with Yellowjackets making its Netflix debut, along with the seventh season of action-packed procedural SWAT, and Tim Robinson’s sitcom Detroiters. In short, it’s a veritable smorgasbord of style, tone, and genre, with plenty to keep users occupied from the first to the last day.
Scary stories might take precedence in October from a cultural perspective, but Netflix is once again living up to its billing as a buffet of television that provides something for everyone.
