'The Loud House Movie' soars on Netflix charts

Created by Chris Savino, Nickelodeon’s 2016 cartoon The Loud House has run for five successful seasons. The cartoon focuses on the madcap life of the sole male child Lincoln Loud, voiced by Asher Bishop, who lives in a family of eleven children in Royal Woods, a town in Michigan. The family includes his sisters Lori, Leni, Luan, Luna, Lynn Jr, Lana, Lucy, Lisa, Lily and Lola. Too many L’s lolling off your tongue, right? 

The animated series has been one of the most highly rated series It has received the GLAAD Media Awards for their progressive and diverse representation of an interracial gay married couple in the form of Harold and Howard McBride. 

However, the latest venture is the Netflix film released on August 20, 2021, and has been topping the charts ever since.

The Loud House Movie shows how the parents and the eleven children head to Scotland to learn about their true ancestry embedded in royalty. It is actually Lisa who discovers Lynn Jr’s royal ancestry that is of Scottish descent. Since the kids are excited, the Loud parents decide to take the children on vacation to the lush meadows of Scotland. 

Once they reach Scotland, they discover a town named Loch Loud been named after them. They soon stumble upon their ancestral home, which is the local castle, and soon chaos ensues.

Currently, it is the second-most-watched title on Netflix, closely following Jason Momoa’s Sweet Girl and defeating the Netflix Anime The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

Voiced by David Tennant, Michelle Gomez and more, and directed by Dave Needham. the film is written by Savino, Chris Viscardi and Kevin Sulivan. 

When asked why Needham chose Scotland, he attributed childhood memories and nostalgia that are attached with his upbringing in Wales that had a value of sentimentality for him.
