‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ season four will feature Cobie Smulders
A good old legal drama is always going to be a favourite series that brings the gang together. Which is why the Netflix original series, The Lincoln Lawyer, after three well-received seasons by audiences and consistent success, will be returning soon with a fourth.
Already in production, there is an exciting update for the viewers. The original cast will be joined by Cobie Smulders, known and loved as Robin Scherbatsky in How I Met Your Mother and Shield Agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Avengers franchise.
However, this is not her first stint with Netflix. Previously, she has featured in shows such as A Series of Unfortunate Events and Friends from College and even appeared in several episodes of Arrested Development, which was recently revived by Netflix. Her last appearance was in an episode of Accused as a murder suspect.
The Lincoln Lawyer follows Mickey Haller, a criminal-defence lawyer and recovering addict, who is pushed into working when he has to take over late lawyer Jerry Vincent’s practice. Mysteries are solved and cases are closed while he faces various trials and tribulations in his professional and personal lives, which sometimes bleed into each other.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as Haller, who is known for his work in films such as Cake and The Magnificent Seven, while Neve Campbell plays the role of Maggie McPherson, Haller’s first ex-wife and a criminal prosecutor herself. On the other hand, there is Becki Newton featuring as Lorna Crane, his second ex-wife and also a legal aid. Other members of the main cast reviving their respective roles are Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson and Yaya DaCosta.
The show is based on a series of books by Michael Connelly, with the first season adapted from his 2008 novel The Brass Verdict, which is a sequel to the book The Lincoln Lawyer. Season two is based on the 2011 book, The Fifth Witness, and the third season is based on 2013’s The Gods of Guilt. Similarly, the upcoming fourth season will be based The Law of Innocence.
Developed by Ted Humphrey and created by David E Kelley, the upcoming season of the show will also feature Sasha Alexander, known from The Morning Show and Shameless, and Constance Zimmer of UnREAL and Entourage fame. Fans are eagerly awaiting further details on the fourth season, especially the release date on Netflix.
