‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ season five goes into production, here’s what to expect
Netflix renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth season before the fourth could even premiere. Now, the series already has the cameras rolling to see you at the court once again.
According to a recent Netflix update, filming for The Lincoln Lawyer’s fifth season has kicked off in the City of Angels with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprising his role as the hottest attorney in town, Mickey Haller. The hit legal drama follows Mickey and the Associates team as they fight cases for LA’s trickiest clients.
“We’re so excited to share the news that we’re already hard at work on the next season,” creator, co-showrunner and executive producer Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner and executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez tell Tudum. “Season four is the most challenging and intensely personal journey we’ve taken Micky Haller yet, and we’re thrilled and grateful to be able to continue the ride in the fifth season.”
Besides Garcia-Ruflo, the fifth season of The Lincoln Lawyer will feature Cobie Smulders as Micky’s sister, Emi Finch, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado return as recurring guest stars.
Meanwhile, seven new recurring guest stars are set to join the fifth season, including Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Silver, Corbin Bernsen as Richard Finch, Diane Guerrero as Natalia, Iker Garcia as Rafa Wagner, Patty Guggenheim as Allison Finch, Richard Cabral as Benny Perez, Steve Howey as Brian Cunningham, and Teresa Maria as Tina Perez.
As for what to expect from the forthcoming season of The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, well, in the fifth instalment, Micky’s life is turned upside down when the half-sister he didn’t even know existed, Emi, arrives with a request to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. The season, “defined by blood ties and buried secrets,” Mickey opts for a habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction. But little does he know that the deeper he investigates, the more evil the forces are to line up against him.
The stakes are also higher than ever for his trusted team, who must tackle their own fair share of high-profile challenges. After saving himself from a wrongful conviction in the fourth season, Micky is now desperately determined to bring justice to another case. But while at it, he has to confront the disintegrated legacy of his family – both his found family and the one he never knew he had in the first place.
The fifth season comprises 10 episodes, based on the seventh book of Michael Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer series, Resurrection Walk. While the release window remains under wraps, check back later for information on what’s to come.
