‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ is set to conclude with season five
The season of Netflix renewals is officially upon us. But amidst the anticipation of returning shows, the streaming giant just pulled back the curtains on an update that’s bound to break hearts: The Lincoln Lawyer is coming to a close with its fifth and final season.
That’s right! Los Angeles’s hotshot defence attorney is preparing one last ride with Micky Haller, more than ready to take on the back seat of his Lincoln Navigator.
The Lincoln Lawyer, which centres on the Haller and Associates team as they defend LA’s trickiest clientele, is already filming for the final instalment. “All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us,” said creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner and executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez (via Tudum).
“From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Micky Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion. And while it is, of course, bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future.”
The co-showrunners expressed immense gratitude to Netflix and A+E Studios for letting them touchdown with The Lincoln Lawyer the way they wanted to. They also seized the opportunity to share their heartfelt wishes for the fans, who watched, supported, and made the show one of a kind.
“We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Micky Haller deserves. We can’t wait to share it with you,” they said.
The fifth season of The Lincoln Lawyer finds Micky in an unprecedented predicament when his half-sister, Emi, whom he didn’t know existed, arrives with a plea he cannot really overlook. Emi wants Micky to help free a wrongfully convicted woman, which pushes him towards a journey to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction.
Having saved himself from a wrongful conviction, Micky cannot let go of this case. However, along the way, he inadvertently assembles an army of foes, making the mission far from simple. Meanwhile, his trusted team – Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco – are caught up in several high-profile challenges of their own.
The fifth season consists of 10 episodes based on the seventh book in Michael Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer series, Resurrection Walk. While the release date is currently under wraps, until more information arrives, stream seasons 1-4 now on Netflix.
