The intense 2026 post-apocalyptic horror movie is now on Netflix
Netflix might be done with March, but subscribers? Not just yet. Throughout last month, the streaming giant unleashed blockbuster content, and even before packing its bags, it brought the ultimate showbiz surprise: the 2026 post-apocalyptic horror movie, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.
That’s right! Netflix just added 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple to its library on March 31st, and like all of you, we cannot keep calm either.
Directed by Nia DaCosta, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple serves as the second instalment of the trilogy by Alex Garland and Danny Boyle, the creative team behind 28 Days Later. The horror sequel was originally released in theatres in January 2026, and the Netflix arrival marks its streaming debut.
Set in Scotland three decades after the Rage Virus outbreak, The Bone Temple follows Spike, who, despite coming across the infected, is saved by Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal and his crew. However, his tracksuit-wearing saviours are anything but harmless.
Having adopted the name The Fingers, where each member is known by Jimmy or a variation of it, these twisted disciples actually turn out to be Satanists. They recruit members by threatening the countryside people, killing others as sacrifices. And with no option left, Spike, too, has to join them for the sake of survival. As for Dr Ian Kelson? He’s still residing among his temple of bones, having befriended an infected named Samson.
Although Samson is an Alpha, Kelson has managed to avoid the fate of his victims through tranquilliser darts, hoping to make a scientific breakthrough.
The Bone Temple treads in far darker territory than its predecessor, deepening the dread with an unsaid psychological battle unfolding between Kelson and Jimmy. It injects black comedy to punctuate the horror, creating an eerie balance of brutal violence and a satirical fever dream.
While at the box office, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple may have received a polarised response, on Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a promising 92%. Needless to say, this is one of the most exciting new additions on Netflix this week.
So, if you’re one of those who couldn’t catch the movie in theatres and have been waiting for its streaming availability, hope this is music to your ears because The Bone Temple is now on Netflix!
