The ‘House of Guinness’ trailer shows sibling rivalry at its deadliest

What is more dangerous than losing a parent? This question is sure to pop up in your head once you watch the trailer for House of Guinness. For the Guinness siblings, it might just be what comes after.

Netflix just dropped the trailer for House of Guinness, and it is not just serving period drama vibes, but there is pouring out betrayal, obsession, and the kind of sibling rivalry that makes Succession look polite.

The setup is simple enough: Sir Benjamin Guinness dies, and his four children gather to hear the will. Except instead of bringing them together, the inheritance rips them apart. The trailer wastes no time showing the fallout and the sultry glances. You have everything you name it: explosive arguments, literal explosions, and a family dynamic so toxic it could fuel its own brewery. You can feel the tension bubbling under every line of dialogue.

At the centre of it all are Arthur and Edward, two brothers tied together by what the trailer calls “golden hoops around each other’s souls”. Sounds poetic, but it basically means they are trapped. Arthur (Anthony Boyle) wants London, nightlife, chaos, and pleasure. Edward (Louis Partridge) wants discipline, principles, and the family business. Two opposite visions chained to the same empire. You do not need a crystal ball to see where that’s headed.

What makes this trailer pop is that it is not only promising family drama but also hinting at revolution. You see gunfire and hear guttural screams while at the same time catching glimpses of the brewing unrest in Ireland. That is the energy this show is working with: personal grudges bleeding into national stakes.

And yes, the world looks gorgeous while it falls apart. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the trailer is smoky and dripping with that mix of grit and glamour Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) is famous for. You can practically smell the hops in the brewery scenes and taste the betrayal in the family dinners.

So, while every trailer tries to hook you, this one doesn’t just tease. Instead, it dares you to pick a side. Are you team Arthur, chasing freedom at any cost, or team Edward, clinging to legacy and order? Either way, the Guinness name isn’t staying clean.

House of Guinness will premiere on September 25th. Consider this your heads-up to get comfortable because when this family feud spills over, you’ll want a front-row seat.
