The five perfect series to watch on Netflix this weekend

Things are moving rather fast with Netflix. So, it’s alright if you are struggling to keep up. But as the weekend inches closer, sending default reminders for the routine watch party, the best thing to do right now is to prepare beforehand.

If you want to make the leaves all about binge-worthy series, this is just the destination because we have handpicked the five best ones to bring the ultimate weekend jolt. With Netflix going all out this streaming season to keep the audience’s plates full at all times, there’s surely no running out of options.

Netflix subscribers also don’t have to worry about the stories going stale since they are absolutely fresh and steaming hot. However, don’t expect this to be another Netflix compass that leans only towards short-format releases.

This weekend, you might just have to give all your time to entertainment to get something back. Once you succeed, nothing will stop your weekend from being a full-blown hit with the five best series to watch on Netflix.

The five best series to binge on Netflix this weekend:

Wayward (Mae Martin, 2025)

Netflix doesn’t plan to slow down with its release slate, making it particularly difficult for titles to stand out, considering the relentless flux of arrivals. However, Wayward made the buzz before it was even released on Netflix, which is enough proof that it deserves your weekend attention. Before the spoilers run free and the clips become fodder for Instagram reels, catch up with Mae Martin’s latest Netflix thriller.

Set in the backdrop of Tall Pines, Wayward promises to transport viewers to a place where there’s always more than meets the eye. The limited series follows a newly moved police officer who has a chance encounter with two troubled teens on the run who eventually join forces to unravel the sinister secrets that plague Tall Pines.

The Guest (Klych López and Israel Sánchez, 2025)

If you’re done with Wayward and want to watch a new Netflix original thriller that leaves you seated all week long, go for The Guest. The Colombian series revolves around Silvia and her new guest, Sonia, an unexpected visitor and a friend from her past. Sonia enters Silvia’s domestic life at a rather odd time when her marriage with Lorenzo, who’s campaigning for Attorney General, is falling apart.

To make things worse, she also has to take care of her daughter, who struggles with substance abuse. While the family was already having a hard time, the guest’s arrival didn’t exactly help. If anything, she made things worse. But the most chilling part? Whatever Sonia does is purely intentional. So, make sure you watch The Guest to witness what goes upside down in Lorenzo and Sylvia’s worlds.

House of Guinness (Steven Knight, 2025)

Some Netflix projects make a space on our watchlist before they can hit the streaming shelves. House of Guinness is definitely one. Although Steven Knight’s historical drama was released midweek, we know plenty of users are saving it for an uninterrupted weekend watch. But in case you were oblivious to its arrival, here’s why you should watch it this weekend.

Set in 19th-century Ireland and New York, House of Guinness recounts one of the most prestigious, enduring legacies, that of the Guinness brewing company. It examines the aftermath of Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death, who took the business to extraordinary heights, exploring the extensive influence of his will on his four children.

Haunted Hotel (Matt Roller, 2025)

In any case, if you feel tired of watching real-life actors playing characters on Netflix shows, we also have an animated series pick just for you. Haunted Hotel is the latest adult animated series from Rick and Morty writer Matt Roller, which brings a genre-bending story you haven’t heard before. Conceived on a purely unique premise, the Netflix series tells the story of a woman struggling to keep her hotel afloat, which is haunted.

But eventually, she does find the help she needs from her estranged brother, who, by the way, is a ghost as well. Despite releasing recently on September 19th, Haunted Hotel currently boasts an 86% Rotten Tomatoes rating. While it’s likely to go upwards as the days progress, make sure you decide for yourself this weekend.

Mobius (Liu Zhangmu, 2025)

To end the weekend marathon, it’s always good to check the sci-fi lanes on Netflix. And it turns out, the streaming giant has the ultimate pick, which was recently released on September 17th, Mobius. The Chinese series offers a gripping blend of murder mystery and time travel, based on Zhang Xiaomao’s Ni Shi Zhen Cha Zu novel.

Mobius follows a detective with a rather unique advantage: a supernatural quintuple time loop ability that lets him turn back the clock up to five times a day. With that chance, he shoulders the responsibility of repeating history to set things straight, one crime at a time. While the series is not exactly a concise watch with 12 episodes, it surely is worth watching over the weekend.
