The five biggest questions ‘Stranger Things’ 5, vol 2 raises

Stranger Things season five finally answered many of those mysterious questions that have been plaguing the fans’ minds since the show’s debut on Netflix in 2016 with the release of the second volume.

Most importantly, the volume came with a much-needed explanation of the Upside Down and the supernatural forces inhabiting the Stranger Things universe from the first season.

While the revelations were enough to blow our minds, it’s still early to say that we have found all our answers. For those still out of the loop, the second volume picks up the story right where the first volume left things off.

But even with what’s been revealed, fans still need some answers to a few burning questions. So, here are the five biggest questions the second volume of Stranger Things season five raises.

The biggest questions Stranger Things needs to answer in the finale

What’s the connection between Henry Creel’s cave memories and Vecna’s ultimate plan?

When we first met Max Mayfield in Stranger Things season five, she was found living in the mysterious caves of Henry Creel’s memories, which he refuses to walk into. Stranger Things: The First Shadow explains that the consequences of Henry’s inadvertent visit to Dimension X in 1959 ultimately led to his institutionalisation and introduction to Eleven. But as of now, the darkness still surrounds what really happened to Henry when he went to Dimension X.

In the play, however, a silhouette of the Mind Flayer hovering over his head was seen following the opening of the briefcase, and it was also clear that he was tormented by a shadowy entity that preys on him based on his insecurities. Although the shot is cut swiftly with the opening of the briefcase, what remains to be revealed is what’s inside it and what exactly happened that terrorised him.

Are we looking forward to time travel in Stranger Things?

There have been numerous references to time travel in Stranger Things in previous and ongoing seasons. While we are all aware of its connections to Wrinkle in Time in the first volume of season five, the answers surrounding its actual potential remain shrouded in mystery. Plus, with Henry stepping into the final stage of his scheme with the possession of the twelve children, the possibility doesn’t seem foul. But then again, only the finale can reveal if we’re really diving into that sci-fi trope after all.

Why is the Upside Down frozen on November 6th?

The second volume of Stranger Things season five may have answered many things about the Upside Down. However, the show is yet to address why it appears to be frozen on November 6th. It was the day when Will Byers disappeared, setting the stage for all that’s been happening in Hawkins since. But the first volume also came with an important hint about November 6th, 1959, the opening night of Oklahoma, directed by the younger version of Joyce Byers.

Who opened the latch of the shed door, which led to Will’s abduction by the Demogorgon?

In an interview with Deadline, the Duffer brothers confirmed that the Demogorgons don’t possess the ability of telepathy. Hence, the one chasing Will before his kidnapping in the first season couldn’t have opened the latch of the shed door. Then, who was it who did the deed?

Who will die in Stranger Things season five?

The speculations surrounding who could die in Stranger Things season five have officially reached heights. Although many theories point to Steve Harrington, only time will reveal whose sacrifice it takes to ultimately save Hawkins.
