The 'Bridgerton' plothole in 'Queen Charlotte'

The brand new Bridgerton spin-off, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, has been causing a stir online after it exposed a pretty massive plot hole in the main show.

The new prequel series follows the life of young Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and her marriage to King George (Corey Mylchreest), but the plot hole revolves around the character of Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews). Whistledown is the narrator of the drama in the original series, with the second season revealing that the mysterious figure is actually Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

But then Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is narrated by Whistledown, too, making for much confusion. In the main Bridgerton show, Featherington is writing about the events she sees first-hand, but with Queen Charlotte being a prequel, she couldn’t have even been born yet, making it impossible for her to be talking about the lives of George and Charlotte.

Maybe, just like the theory behind the iconic spy 007, Lady Whistledown is merely just a codename passed down from one nosy storyteller to the next.

Take a look at the trailer for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story below, starring India Amarteifio, Corey Mylchreest, Arsema Thomas and Adjoa Andoh.
