The Anne Hathaway movie you need to watch before it leaves Netflix next week
As much as viewers seem excited about what’s coming to Netflix next month, they might need a minute or two to make peace with what’s leaving the platform in February. While countless classics are busy packing their bags to board the train starting this Sunday, for those unaware, the train is also about to leave the station for an Anne Hathaway movie you all love a little too much, Bride Wars.
Consider this a friendly reminder since you’re officially on the clock, which means you have exactly a week on your calendar to make a movie night with your girls out of it.
Netflix has announced the removal of several major titles currently available on Netflix in February, including 28 Days Later, Parasite, Groundhog Day, The Terminator, and Mean Girls, among others. Coming to Bride Wars, the fan-favourite romantic comedy, starring Hathaway and Kate Hudson, it is scheduled to leave the streamer on Friday, February 6th.
Netflix’s licensing agreements typically last for a fixed duration, which is why viewers often experience routine removals every now and then, especially in cases of non-original productions. Bride Wars was added to the platform back in November 2025, and given its upcoming departure in February, it roughly counts for a three-month run.
Directed by Gary Winick, Bride Wars follows childhood best friends Emma and Liv, who have grown up dreaming of hosting their own weddings at New York’s Plaza Hotel ever since they witnessed a ceremony when they were kids. As grown-ups, when their respective engagements take place around the same time, they both book the Plaza Hotel for different dates.
While all seems to be going according to their plans, what is a rom-com without some chaos and drama to count on?
Thanks to a clerical error by the wedding planner, Emma and Liv, unfortunately and accidentally, get booked for the same date at the same venue. With neither ready to back down, the lead-up to their wedding ends up being a trail of sabotage and a laugh-out-loud rollercoaster ride with just the right amount of heart, confrontation, and realisation.
Although it shouldn’t be long before another streaming service picks up Bride Wars, the best option is to seize the opportunity now rather than scratching heads about its whereabouts later on.
So, save a day this week and share the reminder with your girlfriends because Bride Wars is counting its last days on Netflix, and everyone deserves to get a fair chance at it.
