The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: October 2025

Netflix US has delivered yet another unpredictable Top 10 this week, and the range is wild in the best way. You have true crime, reality drama, children’s shows, and even a cooking show in a mix of genres that proves how different corners of America use the streaming platform.

Holding steady at number one for its second week is Ryan Murphy’s latest addition to his killer anthology series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story which digs into the infamous real-life murderer Edward Gein, whose gruesome tale has spanned generations of horror films. It’s chilling and stylishly shot, but most of all, it is almost impossible to look away, such that viewers who swore they’d never watch another true-crime drama are glued to this one.

Right behind at number two is Is It Cake? Halloween, which has crash-landed as the nation’s most comforting competition show, and right on schedule for spooky October. It has viewers locked into a constant guessing game of what iteration of baked goods is edible and what’s not, paired with eerie cake inspiration galore; truly, what weirdly satisfying television.

In third place, Love Is Blind season nine keeps proving that being a messy human never goes out of style, with this instalment bringing in new couples, new heartbreaks but the same emotional rollercoaster for a truly compelling look at how far people can go for love.

True Haunting lands at number four, riding the October wave perfectly as a fix for audiences looking for something genuinely creepy. Based on an alleged real-life possession, the series burns a slow tension rather than employing cheap jump scares to a greatly chilling effect.

At number five, the limited series Wayward continues in its quiet but steady presence, being praised for its atmosphere and emotional depth, proving that word of mouth still matters, while sixth place belongs to Raw 2025. As usual, the wrestling juggernaut has made a seamless transition to streaming, while a new show, Boots, has cracked seventh place, offering a poignant drama following a closeted gay man who takes the risk to join the Marine Corps during a time when his mere existence could have him jailed and how he learns self-acceptance.

Then comes the surprise of the week because Ms Rachel’s not one but two seasons have landed back-to-back at the eighth and ninth spots, evidence that the preschool teachers’ songs and calm energy have clearly hit a comfort-watch sweet spot for families.

Rounding out the list at number ten is Black Rabbit, which saw a sharp fall in rating from the peak postion of number one. It’s darker than most of the shows below it, but that contrast is exactly why it’s holding its ground.
