The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: May 2026

Netflix US viewers are basically watching the exact same stuff as everybody else right now, and it’s showing! The second a thriller starts doing well on Netflix, the entire internet suddenly develops the same personality for two weeks straight. Nemesis is still sitting at number one, and it looks like people are fully addicted to this thing now.

Matthew Law plays LAPD officer Isaiah Stiles chasing Y’lan Noel’s Coltrane Wilder, and every episode turns into another disaster! The tension between those two gets worse and worse the deeper the investigation goes, and by the middle of the season, everybody’s stressed, and everything’s a mess! And the second viewers realised the show came from Courtney A. Kemp, the creator of Power, crime-drama fans screamed immediately.

Then, The Boroughs is right underneath it, and who knew that the Duffer Brothers would come back with such a solid show months after they closed Stranger Things? If you think about it, the plot is so different yet so similar. We’ve got the same pattern: a group of people observing something weird going on and starting the search. The only difference is that in Stranger Things, it was kids, and here we have senior citizens.

Next, we have The Roast of Kevin Hart, which arrived, and the world became a happy place again. Another thing to observe here is that a good roast doesn’t just perform well on Netflix, but its clips take over social media. This time, Shane Gillis hosted while Pete Davidson, Chelsea Handler, Jeff Ross, Katt Williams and everybody else spent the night publicly violating Kevin Hart in front of a live audience, and viewers still acted shocked afterwards! Every single celebrity roast ends the same way now.

At number four, you’ve got Worst Ex Ever, season two, and its high ranking is proof that Netflix viewers genuinely love traumatising themselves with relationship horror stories. They love it! The whole series follows manipulative exes, abusive relationships and situations turning dangerous over time, and every episode gets more disturbing than the last one.

Then WWE storms into the chart again with Raw: 2026 – May 18, 2026, because wrestling fans have not known peace this week. Jacob Fatu confronting Roman Reigns officially set up Tribal Combat before Clash in Italy, and people were already losing their minds over that alone, but just then, Brock Lesnar came back… And attacked Oba Femi! Absolute scenes everywhere.

And the middle section of this chart is so random it genuinely looks generated by somebody hitting shuffle on Netflix genres! One second, it’s Wanda Sykes: Legacy with Wanda, and then suddenly Perfect Match Season Four appears, and everybody is back to screaming over reality-TV couples embarrassing themselves onscreen again. And why are contestants from Love Is Blind, Temptation Island and Vanderpump Rules all being thrown into the same villa together? That sounds emotionally dangerous, and it is.

And then the lower half of the chart belongs to children’s television, which makes the whole thing even funnier. Danny Go! and Ms Rachel are both pulling massive numbers right now, meaning half of Netflix viewers are either watching psychological thrillers or keeping their toddlers busy. No in-between whatsoever.

Then randomly shoved between them is Man on Fire with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stepping into the John Creasy role, and that’s all for this week.
