The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: January 2026

The Netflix US top 10 right now feels like a reflection of how people are choosing to spend their screen time in January. Yes, Netflix dropped a bunch of movies and shows on us, and yes, almost all of them are binge-worthy, but the American audience is being selective.

Also, something noticeable here is that there is no single pattern holding these titles together. Some are intense and demanding, others are soothing, and as usual, we have Ms Rachel keeping the nation’s toddlers from melting down before breakfast. But they are all up there because people are watching with purpose.

On top, we have HIS & HERS, which is ruling not just the US but the Netflix global chart too. You go in expecting a breakup drama, and before you know it, you are six episodes deep trying to figure out which character actually meant a single thing they said out loud. The writing leans just enough into suspicion to keep you unsure without ever dragging the mystery. Netflix just gets it.

Then you have Skyscraper Live, which is built to make you uncomfortable, but it is also one of the best things to watch on Netflix right now. We then have a new entry: Free Bert, which is the internet’s current favourite show. It is bolder and more confident in its weirdness than people expected when they hit play.

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials is delivering a very different kind of tension. It holds your attention with how deliberately it moves, never rushing the clues or overplaying the reveals. Each suspect feels like they belong in the same world, which is harder to pull off than it sounds, and we all know only Christie is capable of doing that.

Then Star Search shows up as the reality wild card with a new season and a new judging panel. If you haven’t seen a recent clip from this show on your feed, there might be something wrong with your algorithm.

Raw is still here, still daring people to keep watching. CM Punk beat Finn Bálor and kept his title, and oh, Logan Paul showed up too.

Then we have Marcello Hernández: American Boy is the only comedy in this group, and it earned its spot. His absolutely sharp sense of delivery and the personal material land because it sounds lived-in rather than rehearsed.

Southland being in the top 10 proves that people will always show up for gritty drama when it’s done right. This show from the early 2000s is coming back to the charts, showing how easy it is to make the audience nostalgic.

11.22.63, again an old gem, is finding new life again, and the reason is simple: the concept works. If someone tells you James Franco is trying to stop a presidential assassination via time travel, you watch it. No further questions.

And finally, Ms Rachel remains the most unbothered entry on the list. At this point, she is a Netflix essential.
