The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: January 2026

While the rest of the world is clearly still busy rewatching Stranger Things, making it a religious ritual at this point, America’s doing… something else entirely. And we don’t even mean that in a shady way. It’s about how the charts look completely different.

There is still Stranger Things season five floating in there; obviously, we are not lawless. But before that, we have six shows hijacking the list.

Let’s start at the top because HIS & HERS is still running the damn show, and not one person is surprised. If you have seen even ten minutes of it, you know. If you haven’t, you are actively missing out on some of the best toxic dynamics Netflix has dropped since forever. The tension here is UNMATCHED. The way this show just gets under your skin and makes you feel complicit? No wonder it is topping the global charts too.

Now onto the rogue moves. 11.22.63? Absolutely no one saw that coming. But, to be honest, we did. The US audience has an old habit of bingeing nostalgic shows, which, thanks to Netflix, are revived every now and then. And this one… It is the time-travel thriller from 2016, as in the one with James Franco trying to stop JFK’s assassination. And yes, it is based on a Stephen King book. And yes, it does go way deeper than you expect. It’s not just about time travel, in case you are wondering… It is about a major attempt to change events in history for something you won’t see coming.

We also have Marcello Hernández: American Boy, climbing steadily. Which, honestly? About time. People are finally realising how sharp this special is. It’s not just punchlines but an immigrant kid comedy with an edge. The kind where every joke comes from real stories and real tension. And, of course, the charts needed this flavour. We were getting too comfortable, people.

Then there is Seven Dials, because who doesn’t love a good Christie mystery when it’s done right? That too was wrapped in just one season: pure bliss. And speaking of limited series, Run Away continues to grip people who said they were over psychological thrillers (liars). And Kill Tony: Once Upon a Time in Texas… okay, that one is the wildcard. But it clearly shows that people needed some really good laughs this week, with Marcello and Kill Tonty ruling the chart.

Let’s also acknowledge the total tonal shift that happens at the bottom of the chart with Ms Rachel. Not just one season, but both. Back-to-back. It’s the young audience of Netflix showing that they hold just as much power as any adult viewer out there. Like, forget your crime documentaries and bleak dramas… It’s time for rhymes and serotonin. And honestly, respect to the toddlers who boosted her numbers. They have got better viewing consistency than most adults we know.

So yeah, this week? The US Netflix audience just decided not to give two cents about keeping up with the global audience as usual and made their own little ecosystem. And we get it. Keep it weird, America.
