The 10 most popular series on Netflix US this week: August 2025
It’s a new week on Netflix US, and as usual, murder, mystery, and madness are winning. But this time, the most popular chart has a little bit of everything. It has a savage suburban thriller, a true crime rabbit hole, a kids’ show that refuses to budge, and even a fake wrestling docuseries that somehow feels more real than real life.
Sitting at number one is The Hunting Wives, and honestly, no one is surprised. The show is all glamorous chaos: secret affairs, socialite drama, and a murder that blows the whole glamorous mess wide open. It is the kind of show where every character is holding a glass of wine and a secret. Sounds bingeable, right?
Following closely is Untamed, which has been topping not just Netflix US but also globally for a couple of weeks now. Imagine a coastal town where everyone is barefoot, beautiful, and about five seconds away from emotional collapse. It is slow in places, but the payoff is messy and delicious.
Amy Bradley Is Missing lands at number three, successfully riding the current wave of true crime obsession. This docuseries reopens the 1998 case of a young woman who vanished off a cruise ship. It leaves you with way more questions than answers. It is eerie and absolutely the reason you’ll be Googling cruise ship deck plans at 2am.
Then comes Leanne, the indie drama no one saw coming. A new entry to the list, this show is offbeat and deeply emotional. It follows a young woman unravelling a past that refuses to stay buried. It is not flashy, but viewers are hooked, and the online theories are already spiralling.
At number five, Raw is exactly what the title suggests: unfiltered, emotional, and wildly intense. It dropped on July 28th and has already built a cult following for its mix of visual poetry and hard truths. You will either love it or stare at your screen, wondering what just happened. Either way, the show sticks.
Sliding in at six is Conversations with a Killer: The Son of Sam Tapes. Netflix has always been weirdly good at serial killer content, and this one is no different. Creepy audio, vintage footage, and a chilling deep dive into a killer’s mind. Basically, the perfect recipe for a show like this.
At seventh place, Ms Rachel is still going strong, and by strong, we mean 27 weeks in the top ten. If you do not know what it is, you probably do not have kids. If you do, she’s basically your household co-parent. Bright colours, endless repetition, and somehow… soothing? The power she holds over toddlers (and tired parents) is unmatched.
WWE: Unreal lands at Number 8 and pulls back the curtain on the drama behind the drama. Even if you’ve never watched wrestling, the betrayals, body slams, and backstage politics make it worth the stream.
The Lazarus Project brings some sci-fi flavour at number nine and is a new entry to the list. It blends time loops with big moral questions. It is the smartest show on this list and maybe the most stressful.
Finally, Sullivan’s Crossing made it to the list this week again. It rounds out the list with a softer landing of small-town nostalgia, family drama, and enough heart to balance out all the crime and chaos above it.
