The Netflix Top 10 chart has got a familiar face back at number one this week, but the real story’s lower down. Avatar: The Last Airbender has kept both seasons in the Top 10, while true crime and family shows are all pulling big numbers.
Harlan Coben’s done it yet again this week with I Will Find You. The series follows David Burroughs, a man serving life in prison, until fresh evidence suggests the truth isn’t what everyone thought. Coben’s Netflix adaptations are built around twists instead of action, thus keeping viewers guessing right to the end.
In second place is Worst Neighbor Ever, a spin-off from Worst Roommate Ever. It looks at neighbour disputes that end up turning into major criminal cases. Netflix has clearly found an audience for documentaries with these documentaries.
Avatar: The Last Airbender season two isn’t shifting. Toph’s live-action debut has got fans talking, while changes from the original animated series are sparking plenty of debate. Whether people love it or hate it, they’re still watching, and that’s exactly what keeps it near the top.
Salish & Jordan Matter’s season two proves YouTube audiences can follow creators to streaming. Jordan Matter built one of the biggest family channels online, and Netflix’s bet on that audience is paying off. Not every creator makes that jump, but this pair have managed it.
