The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: May 2026

It’s insane how Netflix viewers can go from watching wholesome kids’ television straight into psychological relationship nightmares without flinching, isn’t it? Because that’s basically what this week’s trending chart looks like. One minute, you have Danny Go! keeping children occupied, the next minute, adults are bingeing Worst Ex Ever. Crazy yet believable.

The Roast of Kevin Hart, taking the top spot, was never in doubt. The second Netflix announced it as part of “Netflix Is A Joke Fest”, they already knew the internet was going to have a field day with it. And look at the people participating: Shane Gillis is hosting, Jeff Ross is causing problems, Pete Davidson is there, and then Tom Brady arrives to roast Kevin back after the absolute state of the Brady roast last year.

Honestly, Brady shocked people the most because nobody expected him to be that savage. Then Katt Williams appeared, and everybody online forgot the actual jokes because now they were busy talking about whether his long-running beef with Kevin Hart had officially ended. Netflix loves mess, and maybe that was the intention behind this.

Then came Worst Ex Ever season two… and sorry, but this series is guaranteed to give you nightmares. People thought season one was stressful enough, but this new season managed to get even darker. Every episode follows relationships that look normal but eventually turn manipulative or criminal. The series has been all over social media this week because viewers keep pausing episodes just to recover from whatever madness they’ve heard.

Meanwhile, Nemesis has walked into the charts with detective Isiah Stiles hunting criminal mastermind Coltrane Wilder across Los Angeles, and viewers seem fully invested already. Also, isn’t it funny that Netflix audiences suddenly become detectives themselves whenever a crime series drops?

Next, we have Legends, a proper British crime drama involving undercover customs officers infiltrating drug gangs in the 1990s. Yeah, audiences here were never ignoring that. Steve Coogan and Tom Burke lead the cast, and the wild bit is the story is inspired by real undercover operations carried out by HM Customs and Excise.

Then there’s Man on Fire, which has dragged action fans straight back into the Denzel Washington discourse again. The new series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as John Creasy, a former operative protecting a young girl before everything goes south. Even after it was constantly compared to the 2004 Denzel Washington classic, the series has done well because viewers love a revenge thriller with a man on a mission.

Over in animation, Devil May Cry season two has made all the weebs crawl out of their dens. More demons, more fighting: that’s basically it. Not much changed there, thankfully. The first season already built a massive fanbase, so season two flying into Netflix’s trending chart was pretty much guaranteed.

And yes, Raw is still camping in Netflix’s trending section every single week, followed by Should I Marry A Murderer? also climbing the charts because viewers apparently love terrifying relationship documentaries now. Meanwhile, Perfect Match, season four, returned with more reality stars making terrible romantic decisions in opulent villas. That’s what the show really is about, isn’t it?

This week’s Top 10 list ends with Danny Go! securing the last position because parents have surrendered control of the television yet again. It used to be Ms Rachel, but Danny seems to be doing the job better.
