The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: May 2026
Netflix this week has genuinely got people losing the plot a bit, and fair enough, because this week’s list is such a weird mix that you can’t guess the mood. We have murder documentaries trending, followed by undercover crime dramas paired with random comedy specials… Does that make sense to you? Well, have a look at the list first before you become all judgmental.
The fact that Man on Fire is still ranking on top after two weeks tells you absolutely everything you need to know. People cannot leave this show alone, and we don’t blame them. The second viewers realised Netflix wasn’t just lazily remaking the old Man on Fire film but was actually expanding John Creasy into a full series, everyone was invested.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s performance has people absolutely obsessed online as well because he plays Creasy like a guy who hasn’t slept properly in about a decade. Plus, all the callbacks to the 2004 film have turned the internet into FBI detectives again.
Then Should I Marry A Murderer? is donning the second position and completely destroys everybody’s trust issues for the week. Honestly, if you’re already a bit paranoid about dating, this show’s basically psychological warfare. Everything starts normally, but before you know it, crime, drama and everything that can go wrong happen.
And speaking of emotional damage, Worst Ex Ever Season 2 is back with some seriously shocking stories that have sent half the internet straight back into memories they probably paid good money in therapy to forget. Netflix viewers absolutely love relationship horror stories. They inhale them, literally. Every episode introduces another ex behaving like an actual villain from a psychological thriller, and the mad part is that everybody watching starts contemplating suddenly.
Meanwhile, Legends is next on the list, and it makes complete sense because British audiences will watch literally anything involving undercover police or criminals and dodgy pubs. Doesn’t even matter if the plot makes sense half the time. Another reason for viewers to binge this is that bits of the story were inspired by real undercover customs operations from the ‘90s, which makes these more compelling.
Then there is Running Point, season two, still going strong. Kate Hudson running a basketball empire while her entire life collapses around her really shouldn’t work this well, but it absolutely does. You can feel Mindy Kaling all over it, too. Typical Kaling chaos.
Further down the list, Unchosen is still hanging in there with a cult following because people cannot resist mystery shows where random strangers wake up trapped. It’s catnip for Netflix viewers. Same reason Lord of the Flies keeps climbing as well. Apparently, watching civilisation completely collapse never stops being entertaining to us as a species. Says a lot, really. Bleak Watch, though.
Then, thankfully, Funny AF with Kevin Hart turns up to provide a tiny bit of emotional recovery between all the murder, manipulation and psychological trauma dominating Netflix lately, while WWE Raw: 2026 proves wrestling fans still treat Monday nights like sacred cultural events. And somehow, La Brea has come back into the charts again because audiences will apparently watch absolutely anything involving prehistoric monsters. And that’s all!
