The 10 most popular series on Netflix this week: August 2026
Well, this was obvious. Outer Banks has nicked the crown this week, and with season five being the show’s final outing, that feels about right. The Pogues returned on August 20th after JJ’s death, so the mood is a little heavy this time, but that didn’t stop fans. They binged and how! A well-deserved farewell.
At number two, My Brilliant Career has made a cracking entrance. Philippa Northeast plays Sybylla Melvyn, a young Australian woman who wants to become a writer while the world around her keeps nudging her towards marriage, and it is based on a novel by Miles Franklin.
My Life With the Walter Boys takes third after constantly being in the top five. Just last week, it got 8.7million views. Netflix clearly knows it has a keeper too, because Season Four entered production before season three had even premiered. Blimey, that love triangle is going nowhere.
True crime barges in at number four with Conversations with a Killer: The Charles Manson Tapes. The three-part series uses prison calls Manson made to a retired detective during the final years of his life, with 137 recordings forming part of the material. Not recommended for bedtime viewing.
Then comes Tires season three, at number five, and most views for this show are coming from the viewers of Netflix US. It brings back Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben to Valley Forge Auto. Three seasons in, the comedy has found its people.
WWE Raw’s August 17 episode takes sixth, with Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You at number seven. SEAL Team season one follows at number eight, while Danny Go! scores number nine, which means preschool TV is sharing chart space with wrestling. You do have to love Netflix sometimes.
The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare rounds out the top ten. So that is this week’s lot, with Outer Banks getting its farewell-season moment.
