The cinematic trends on Netflix are always on a roll. But this week’s most popular movies chart in the US is no longer a replica of what’s trending globally.

While one would expect A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE to take the lead head-on following its swift rise on the global charts, it’s Geeta Gandbhir’s true-crime documentary, The Perfect Neighbour, with the last laugh Stateside. However, Kathryn Bigelow’s high-octane thriller has made its impact loud and clear, currently clutching silver, despite bowing down to the chilling documentary.

Meanwhile, KPop Demon Hunters isn’t letting go easily, neither with the international rankings nor with the US ones. It has found a home in the third spot, mirroring its stronghold likewise. And the movies that failed to crack into the top five global positions have managed to leave a mark here this week.

In the week dated October 20th to October 26th, Taken in Plain Sight and I Know What You Did Last Summer have sneaked into the most popular movies chart in the US at fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Although the Roald Dahl adaptation for Netflix has witnessed a slight decline, it’s not exactly a sharp fall. The Twits, which recently had its global premiere on Netflix earlier this month, is ranked sixth in the chart.

Moving on, we have Don’t Say a Word trending at number seven. It also sneaked into the global charts this week. Despite being long forgotten, the streaming visibility has clearly paid off. But it’s not the only psychological thriller fans are loving at the moment.

The craze surrounding The Woman in Cabin 10 may have deteriorated with time, as was evident in the international cinematic landscape. However, unfortunately, it has experienced a clear fall in its momentum, dropping to the eighth position.

The animation frenzy is not exactly at par in the US as it is in the most popular charts globally. But when it comes to Despicable Me 3, it’s hard not to go back again and again. The beloved movie stands firm in the ninth position. But wrapping up this week’s list is a star-studded flick that’s wildly different from the rest of the genres, a Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper-led action-comedy, The A-Team.
