Meanwhile, sandwiching the most-watched Netflix film of all time is yet another rom-com that arrived just in time for the Yuletide, Champagne Problems. While viewers have clearly found the genre of this year’s festive finds, the top five titles in the US remain an eccentric mix.

In the fourth, we have the Jason Momoa-led action fantasy film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which serves as the sequel to Aquaman and the final film in the DC Extended Universe. Moving on to the sixth movie on the chart, it is the forgotten Jake Gyllenhaal crime thriller, Ambulance. Despite its subpar performance at the box office in 2022, the Michael Bay-directed film has found a second life on streaming, thanks to Netflix.

Succeeding the high-octane action thriller in the most popular movies chart is a road comedy drama, Dog, starring Channing Tatum. So far, US viewers have struck the right balance between the light-hearted and the serious, as is evident from the documentary film below, The Carman Family Deaths.

But it’s for the best not to expect the concluding movies to camouflage into the trends because, in the ninth spot as well, the stakes remain high with the sci-fi action film, The Island.
