The 10 most popular movies on Netflix US this week: July 2026
The most popular movies on Netflix may have found a new global cheerleader this week. However, US subscribers are clearly going against the international odds with a separate choice of their own.
During the week of July 20th to July 26th, the international tides were clearly in the favour of Kevin Hart’s newest comedy. But in the US, A Toxic Love Story has the ball in its court, having amassed a whopping 18million views this week alone.
While A Toxic Love Story is currently a number-one movie in 13 countries including the US, next in line is 72 Hours, which debuted on the most popular movies chart with 22.1million views internationally. Although the Netflix Original comedy ultimately gave in to the unsettling true-crime documentary Stateside, the Hart starrer remains the number-one movie in 28 countries this week!
Next in line is the Alan Ritchson-led 2024 Christian drama Ordinary Angels. While the movie already broke into the international most popular movies chart this week, it has made itself right at home in America.
Following it closely in fourth is the 2026 action-war drama movie Sniper: No Nation. As for the title succeeding it? It’s the Golden Globe-winning musical fantasy, Wicked: For Good, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Although the 2025 movie just arrived on Netflix, it has clearly warmed up to this week’s trendsetters in more ways than one.
Up next on the most popular movies chart in the US is Elize: Shadows of a Woman, the Netflix original drama inspired by the real-life case of Elize Matsunaga, who allegedly murdered and dismembered her renowned businessman husband, Marcos Matsunaga, in their Sao Paulo apartment.
Succeeding it is a steamy new erotic thriller, Desire, which, despite losing the top five momentum in the US, is still going stronger than ever on this week’s most popular movies chart. Meanwhile, ranked eighth on the US top 10 weekly chart is the 2012 dystopian action-adventure classic, The Hunger Games.
Coming to the final two entries on this week’s most popular movies chart in the US, we have the animated fan-favourite The Boss Baby, followed by Zoey Deutch’s Netflix Original rom-com, Voicemails for Isabelle. And with that, we officially come to a close for the week ending July 26th.
