Succeeding the survival thriller on the most popular movies chart this week is the black comedy drama Roommates, which has expertly brought chaos in its wake with a story of the dramatic unravelling of two seemingly best friends in college.

Up next on the most popular movies chart in the US is the Lifetime movie, Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story, from the network’s Ripped from the Headlines series.

Based on a shocking true story, the crime drama recounts the unbelievable crimes of Steven Pladl, who coerced his biological daughter, whom he had put up for adoption as a child with his wife, to engage in an incestuous relationship.

Ranked fourth on the most popular movies chart is yet another shark thriller, The Requin, which has recently experienced a boost in viewership, all thanks to Thrash. Meanwhile, rounding out the top five titles is yet another Lifetime movie based on a true crime, Nobody Dumps My Daughter.

While the global chart is flooded with action thrillers this week, the impact is also subtly palpable in the US. But in case you’re sceptical, there’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trending at number six, to clear your doubts.

Having said that, on the seventh, we have the Oscar-winning KPop Demon Hunters, refusing to let go of its stronghold on the most popular movies chart. Next in the lineup is the South African revenge thriller, 180, which the Internet simply cannot stop raving about.

Lastly, the last two entries are Untold: Jail Blazers, trailblazing alongside the American slasher horror movie Halloween Ends. And with that, we officially come to a close for the week.
