The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: September 2026
Like every other week, Netflix is back with its coveted chart of the most popular movies, and subscribers now have a new competitor to bet on.
During the week of September 7th to September 13th, Tyler Perry’s highly anticipated threequel, Why Did I Get Married Again? took the lead on the most popular movies chart, debuting with a whopping 19.3million views. The family comedy movie is currently the number-one title in 14 countries, including the Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, among others.
Ranked second on the most popular movies chart is The Whisper Man, starring Robert De Niro and Adam Scott, which is going stronger than ever for a third consecutive week with 12.7million views. As of now, the serial-killer thriller is the number-one movie in 21 countries, including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, and Germany.
Next in line is Brian Knappenberger’s newest docufilm, Turning Point: Generation 9/11, which arrived 25 years after the tragic 9/11 attacks in 2001. In its second consecutive week on the most popular movies chart, it has amassed 5.9million views, becoming one of the top 10 trending titles in 32 countries.
Following closely at number four on the most popular movies chart this week is the 2022 neo-Noir psychological thriller The Little Things starring Rami Malek and Denzel Washington. With 4.4million views, this marks the film’s fifth non-consecutive week on Netflix’s weekly charts. Meanwhile, rounding out the top five is the 2021 action thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead, directed by none other than Taylor Sheridan.
While the most popular movies chart screams blockbuster so far, ranked sixth this week is yet another action blast from the past The Hard Corps, with 3.5million views. Moving on, up next in the weekly rankings is the latest chapter of Netflix’s Untold Mr T: I Pity The Fool with 3.3million views.
Positioned seventh on the most popular movies chart this week is the Oscar-winning animated musical KPop Demon Hunters, directed by Maggie Kang, currently on a 64-week streak. The Academy Award winner is followed by yet another fan-favourite animated comedy, Shrek.
As for the title pulling the curtains on this week’s most popular movies chart? Well, it’s Anaconda 3: Offspring, and with that, it’s officially a wrap for now.
