The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: October 2025

Netflix has officially found the most stubborn leader of all time, as is evident once again on its top ten most popular movies chart. Whatever the season may be, the cinematic landscape on Netflix keeps screaming KPop Demon Hunters all the way.

In the week dated September 29th to October 5th, Maggie Kang’s chart-topping animated flick has again topped the Netflix charts globally, leaving each and every competitor in the dust.

While KPop Demon Hunters amassed 18.1million views this week alone, following in the second position is Tyler Perry’s biblical re-telling of Ruth & Boaz with 14.1million views. The romantic drama is currently the number one movie in 16 countries for its second week of its stay on the most popular movies chart.

Rounding out the top three is Ralph Machio’s Karate Kid: Legend, which is presently rising through the ranks. Closely succeeding the punch-fest in the fourth position is Adam Wingard’s 2024 action film, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. While the global audience’s appetite for action flicks might be never-ending, a good rom-com also goes a long way.

On this week’s most popular movies chart, The Wrong Paris, starring Miranda Cosgrove, is still going strong, currently ranked fifth for its fourth week. The rom-com has reportedly amassed 3.6million views alone this week as the top ten contender in 33 countries at the moment.

And as is tradition with the animated catalogue, every week calls for something new. This week, a superhero animated comedy flick, Dog Man, has landed on the charts, boasting a star-studded voice cast starring the likes of Pete Davidson, Ricky Gervais, and Peter Hastings, among others.

Meanwhile, Denzel Washington’s Man on Fire is seemingly extending its stay on the most popular movies chart, having amassed 3.1million views this week as the top ten movie in a whopping 50 countries right now. The action thriller is currently storming the Netflix charts in the seventh position, and it’s safe to say that it’s ageing like a fine wine.

Speaking of the animation craze, succeeding Man on Fire is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at eighth, which, along with Hop in the tenth, has managed to sandwich the Robert de Niro-led comedy film, About My Father. And with that, it’s officially a wrap to this week’s top ten most popular movies chart globally.
