The most popular movies chart on Netflix this week is first-hand proof that subscribers are clearly not over the frenzy of action titles with a sci-fi twist. While it’s difficult to pinpoint the why, for now, they would evidently have it no other way.

Right at the top of the most popular movies chart, we have Netflix’s sci-fi action sequel, War Machine, starring Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid, in which, during the final phase of US Army Ranger selection, the rigorous training exercise unknowingly becomes a brutal fight for survival against an “unimaginable threat” from outer space.

Although it hasn’t even been a week since its March 6th release on Netflix, in the week from March 2nd to March 8th, War Machine amassed a whopping 39.3million views, becoming the number one title in 83 countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, the Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic, among others.

Clutching silver on the most popular movies chart on Netflix this week is yet another title from the same genre, Jurassic World Rebirth, with 6.7million views. While it is not the only Jurassic World movie on the chart this time around, it is clearly leading the rest of the pack.

On third is the Oscar-nominated animated musical KPop Demon Hunters, currently in its 38th week on the most popular movies chart. Co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the Golden Globe-winning film garnered 4.7million views this week.

Meanwhile, on the fourth, there’s the Dave Bautista action flick Trap House, making waves on the most popular movies chart with 4.4million views. That said, rounding out the top five titles this week on global cinematic trends is the iconic spy comedy film The Boss Baby, with 3.3million views.

Succeeding the animated comedy on the most popular movies chart this week is Jurassic World with 3.2million views. In all honesty, the chart now belongs to the movie series since 40% of it is occupied by the franchise, as is evident the more you scroll.

Sandwiched between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Dominion is another action title, Hierarchy. As for the latter? Well, it is ranked eighth with 2.8million views. On the ninth is the ultimate underdog story starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, The Karate Kid.

Lastly, wrapping up the most popular movies chart this week once and for all is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and with that, we officially come to a close.
