The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: June 2026

The most popular movies chart on Netflix has once again changed colours and allegiances, meaning the throne no longer belongs to the sultry midsummer rom-com that subscribers couldn’t really get enough of.

Instead, during the week of June 15th to June 21st, Jessica Dimmock’s hard-hitting true-crime documentary, Maternal Instinct, is currently ranked number one on the most popular movies chart after garnering a whopping 25.5million views in its second week since release. As of now, it is the number-one movie in 25 countries, including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, and Ireland, among others.

Ranked second on the international most popular movies chart is the Netflix rom-com that the audience possibly didn’t see coming just yet. It is the Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson starrer, Voicemails for Isabelle, with 17.5million views in its debut week. Although it couldn’t topple the true-crime movie from the top spot, the heartfelt romance drama became the number one movie in 29 countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Costa Rica, among others.

Next in the queue is also a Netflix romantic comedy, Office Romance, starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein. While the rom-com clearly had to make some space for the newcomers’ takeover, it is still going strong on the third on this week’s most popular movies chart with 7.8million views.

Up next on the most popular movies chart, we have the late 2000s punch-fest, Street Kings, starring Keanu Reeves. While it’s not the only blast from the past floating on the charts, the action thriller surely grabs the eye with 6.2million views. Meanwhile, rounding out the top five trendsetters is Nathan Greno’s record-breaking animated fantasy adventure comedy, Swapped, ranked fifth with 4.9million views.

On the sixth, we have the Oscar-winning animated fantasy musical, KPop Demon Hunters, trailblazing in its 53rd week since release, like it’s the very first day. Although fans were concerned about it slipping from the popular conscience following its slip from the US charts, for now, there’s clearly no reason to worry.

Following closely on the most popular movies chart is the Lifetime psychological thriller Flowers in the Attic, with 33.4million views. Succeeding the 2014 romance thriller on the global charts in the week ending June 21st is Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, storming on Netflix 16 years after its release.

As for the movies wrapping up the trends of the week? On the ninth, we have the beloved spy thriller, No Time to Die, starring Daniel Craig, followed by the animated sports comedy GOAT, on the tenth. And with that, we officially come to a close with the most popular movies on Netflix this week.
