The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: July 2026

Just as flint striking stones sparks a fire, the constant friction between the most popular movies on Netflix is what fuels the next viral sensation.

So, for those curious about how the most popular movies chart has been faring during the week of July 20th to July 26th, well, the answer is: with its head held high and a platter of funny bones. In a move probably none of the subscribers saw coming, Kevin Hart’s latest comedy, 72 Hours, just rose to the summit with a whopping 22.1million views.

As if that wasn’t enough, 72 Hours is also currently the number one movie in 28 countries, including the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago, among others.

While Hart may have taken a little more than 72 hours to show the competitors how it’s done, A Toxic Love Story is busy carrying forward its momentum with 18million views. The shocking true-crime documentary is currently the number-one movie in 13 countries, including Canada, Denmark, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Iceland, and Finland, among others.

Ranked third on the most popular movies chart this week is the recently released action-war entry of the Sniper series, titled Sniper: No Nation. With 5.3million views, the 2026 movie is one of the top 10 trending titles in 29 countries.

Next in line is the third most-watched rom-com from the first half of the year, Voicemails for Isabelle starring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson, with 4.6million views. Although the Netflix Original romance drama has already spent six weeks on the most popular movies chart since its release, the 2011 horror movie Quarantine 2: Terminal just cracked into the chart with 4.2million views at number five.

Up next, we have the 2024 Alan Ritchson drama, Ordinary Angels, based on true events from during the 1994 North American cold wave. The movie has amassed 4.1million views in the week ending July 26, subsequently ranking sixth, right ahead of KPop Demon Hunters. The Oscar-winning animated musical is currently ranked seventh with 3.7million views in its 57th week on the most popular movies chart.

Succeeding the award-winning flick is yet another animated fantasy comedy, Swapped, on its eleventh round around the most popular movies chart. Meanwhile, following it closely is the most-watched Netflix Original movie from the first half of the year, War Machine, with 3.2million views.

Lastly, rounding out the most popular movies chart once and for all this week is the 2009 animated gem, Monsters vs Aliens, with 3million views. And with that, it’s officially a wrap for the week!
