The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: February 2026
The most popular movies chart on Netflix this week looks fresh out of the oven, courtesy of the new chart-topper already making waves on the platform.
Right at the top, there’s the new Tyler Perry-directed road-trip comedy set in the Madea universe, Joe’s College Road Trip. In the week from February 9th to February 15th, the comedic emotional drama debuted with 12.5million views on the most popular movies chart globally, becoming the number one movie in eight countries and a top ten title in 43 countries.
Clutching silver on the weekly Netflix chart is the spine-chilling true-crime documentary, which recounts the horrific crimes performed by the former neonatal nurse convicted of murdering seven babies, The Investigation of Lucy Letby. With 6.6million views amassed in its second week since release, the docu-film remains the number one movie in four countries and one of the top ten titles in 32 countries.
Up next on the most popular movies chart, the recently added live-action remake of the animated urban fantasy film, How to Train Your Dragon, is ranked third with 6.1million views. The Dean DeBlois-directed movie is currently a top ten title in three countries, including the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Oscar-nominated KPop Demon Hunters is positioned fourth on the most popular movies chart. For its 35th week on the Netflix charts since release, the Golden Globe-winning animated musical film garnered 5.7million views. As if that wasn’t a feat big enough, the animated movie, co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, is one of the top ten titles in 45 countries this week.
As for the movie sealing off the top five titles, we have a 2018 romantic comedy rising through the ranks on the global charts, Overboard, starring Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez. Although a critical Rotten Tomatoes bomb with a meagre 24%, the slapstick rom-com has clearly become one of the fan-favourites since last week.
Moving on, it’s the pulse-pounding cop thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, ranked sixth on the most popular movies chart globally, The Rip. While it has been five weeks since the action thriller was released on Netflix, it’s still going strong on the charts with 4.7million views as one of the top ten titles in 56 countries this week.
That said, we also have new players making appearances on the most popular movies chart globally this week, like the epic biblical drama, Noah. The film recently landed on the charts with 3.6million views and is currently succeeded by a disaster film serving as the standalone sequel to Twister (1996), titled Twisters, with 3.1million views.
Tied with Twisters on the most popular movies chart in terms of viewership is yet another action thriller fronted by Jason Statham, Homefront. Lastly, wrapping up this week’s global cinematic trends is an unlikely comedic blast from the past, Norbit, and with that, we officially come to a close for the week.
