The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: February 2026
The most popular movies chart on Netflix has clearly undergone a shuffle this week, and it’s all thanks to the true-crime documentary that’s making waves on the platform.
Despite two weeks of undisputed reign at the top of the most popular movies chart, The Rip has finally been toppled in the week dated February 2nd to February 8th, courtesy of Netflix’s latest spine-chilling docu-film, The Investigation of Lucy Letby. The true-crime documentary debuted with 12.9million views, becoming the number one movie in 18 countries.
Clutching silver on the global charts is the critically acclaimed cop thriller, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, The Rip. For its fourth week on the chart, the action movie has amassed 7.4million views. It remains the number one movie in two countries, including Serbia and New Caledonia.
Up next, we have KPop Demon Hunters, refusing to let go of its momentum on the most popular movies chart. In its 34th week since release, the animated musical, which recently won Golden Globes and a Grammy, garnered 6.1million views. It’s currently the top ten movie in 42 countries.
Moving on, there’s the Liam Neeson action thriller, In the Land of Saints and Sinners, rising through the ranks. Although the Western flick was ranked ninth last week, this time, it has made the cut of the top five candidates strutting on the most popular movies chart. Ranked fourth, the high-stakes action movie is currently the number one movie in 40 countries.
Now that we’re well into February, it’s only natural that romantic comedies will show a resurgence on Netflix in the wake of Valentine’s Day. So, rounding out the top five players on the charts is a rom-com classic we know all too well and love, Sweet Home Alabama.
Succeeding Sweet Home Alabama is yet another romantic comedy, which just made an appearance on the most popular movies chart, Overboard. With 3.5million views, it’s currently ranked sixth on the charts. Additionally, for a rom-com hattrick on the charts, there’s Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates at number seven.
Following closely on the most popular movies chart is the fantasy comedy classic, Night at the Museum, with 3.5million views. As for The Rip fans, there’s another Joe Carnahan-directed action thriller climbing up the charts, Copshop, ranked ninth.
Lastly, wrapping up the most popular movies chart globally this week is The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and with that, we officially come to a close.
