The 10 most popular movies on Netflix this week: April 2026

Regardless of how many titles enter and exit streaming weekly, nothing comes second to the appeal of the most popular movies chart on Netflix this week.

Right at the top of the most popular movies chart, we have the action-adventure comedy reboot, Anaconda, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. In the week dated March 30th to April 5th, the 2025 movie amassed 9.9million views following its streaming debut the week before, becoming the number one title in seven countries, including Austria, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, among others.

Up next on the most popular movies chart this week is the first part of Netflix’s four-part UNTOLD series, Untold: The Life and Death of Lamar Odom. Released on March 31st, the docu-series has garnered 8.4million views this week. It has also become the number one title in seven countries, including Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Iceland, and Slovenia, to name a few.

Next in line is yet another Netflix Original documentary, The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson, currently ranked third on the most popular movies chart. The true-crime documentary recounts the murder of budding cyclist Moriah Wilson, whose dreams were upended over a streak of ungrounded jealousy. The title debuted on the charts with 6.7million views, becoming one of the top 10 titles in 23 countries.

Ranked fourth on the most popular movies chart this week is the post-apocalyptic thriller 40 Acres, which follows a matriarch defending her ancestral land in a resource-scarce future. With 6.2million views, it is the number one movie in 18 countries this week, including Bolivia, the Bahamas, Chile, Jamaica, Mexico, and others.

Following the thriller pretty closely on the most popular movies chart is the sci-fi spectacle that refuses to leave the chart, War Machine. After earning 6.1million views this week, the sequel film starring Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid has become one of the top 10 movies in 59 countries.

Moving on, we have the gangster movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, strutting at number six on the most popular movies chart this week. Although the sequel film has clearly experienced a massive drop, it remains the number one movie in two countries: Bulgaria and Siberia.

But speaking of titles that have simply made themselves at home on the most popular movies chart, the only title that comes to mind is KPop Demon Hunters. The Oscar-winning movie is presently positioned seventh, which is honestly no surprise.

Meanwhile, following the animated musical fantasy film are two back-to-back animated titles. Ranked eighth is Madagascar, which is followed by Despicable Me 4. Lastly, rounding out this week’s most popular movies chart is a surprise entry no one really saw coming: the 2020 Western thriller, Let Him Go. And with that, it’s a wrap.
