The 10 most popular films on Netflix this week: October 2023

The data for the last week of October is in, and now we know what people have been bingeing on Netflix. The global top ten most popular English films have an array of genres and themes, as usual.

Bill Burr’s Old Dads is still at the number one spot, attracting 28.2m hours of viewership last week. David Yates’ Pain Hustlers is next in line. Yet another story exploring the greed that fuelled the opioid crisis in America, it has garnered 29.3m hours of viewership.

Jennifer Lawrence’s raunchy sex comedy No Hard Feelings is in the third spot. And in the fourth spot, we have a Liam Neeson action flick, Cold Pursuit. This action-packed thriller is a tale of revenge and redemption.

Benicio Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone’s mystery film Reptile is in seventh place, but with an impressive five weeks in the top ten.

Proving that family-friendly entertainment is always in demand, the animated adventure Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked ranks fifth, accumulating 5.7m hours viewed during its second week.

People in the mood for some spooktacular fun have bolstered Monster High: The Movie to the sixth spot. And these are not the only family-friendly films in the top ten. The animated fan-favourite Minions occupies the eighth spot.
