This week’s global top ten Netflix films list (English) has all the usual suspects—from recent debuts to films that have been reigning supreme for the past few weeks.
Topping the list is David Fincher’s The Killer, a revenge thriller that has held its ground in the top spot since its arrival on Netflix on November 10th. The film stars Michael Fassbender, an assassin on a mission to avenge his partner, who succumbs to the battered girlfriend in a fridge trope early on. It is one of those films that makes for a more fun rewatch because you can get into all the layered details and subtle humour.
The wild and weird holiday film Best. Christmas. Ever! is in the second spot, followed by Monster Hunter starring the badass Milla Jovovich and Ron Perlman.
The messy family thriller Locked In takes the fourth spot with 21.4million hours viewed. This film is a rollercoaster of cheap thrills, trapping its characters and viewers alike in a tense and unpredictable situation. Meanwhile, F9: The Fast Saga continues to rev its engines in the fifth position.
The biographical war movie Lone Survivor and comedy-action flick Cold Pursuit follow suit, offering everything from intense drama to riveting revenge. We also have Paw Patrol: The Movie for the young ones on the Netflix bandwagon.
The David Yates-directed Pain Hustlers, based on the greed-fuelled opioid crisis in America, claims the ninth spot, and rounding off the list is the romance story See You on Venus.
