The 10 most popular films on Netflix this week: June 2023

Welcome to this week’s edition of the top ten most popular films on Netflix. This time there is a mix of action and children’s entertainment dominating the charts.

From June 12th to June 18th, viewers flocked to watch Chris Hemsworth’s return as covert mercenary Tyler Rake in Extraction 2. Jennifer Lopez’s The Mother has spent an astounding six weeks in the top ten, but The Boss Baby is still ahead with its eight-week stay on the list.

We have Extraction 2 at the top spot in its debut week. It has amassed a staggering 88million hours viewed. Following closely behind is its predecessor, Extraction, with 19million hours viewed this week.

Children and families found delight in Paw Patrol: The Movie, claiming the third spot. This animated adventure, featuring everyone’s favourite heroic pups, accumulated 9million hours viewed in its fourth week in the top ten.

The Boss Baby, a comedic animation that has been entertaining audiences for eight weeks straight, secured the fourth position with 6million hours viewed. And coming in at number five is the action-packed video game adaptation, Assassin’s Creed, which garnered 5million hours viewed.

The Angry Birds Movie finds itself in the seventh spot, right after JLo’s The Mother. More beloved mobile game characters come to life in this animated comedy as they team up to save their island from sneaky green pigs.

Taylor Lautner-led ​​Abduction is at number eight, Mark Wahlberg’s hammy action flick Shooter at number nine, and the gripping thriller Prisoners, directed by Denis Villeneuve, rounds out the top ten. All in all, not a bad week!
