The Netflix top ten films chart has a fresh board this week, offering a glimpse into the streaming preferences of viewers during the final week of 2023.
Leading the charge at number one is Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon—Part One: A Child of Fire. In its second week on the list, this sci-fi film has garnered a staggering 77million hours of viewing, proving that despite critical reception, Snyder still has a significant audience.
Closely following is Sam Esmail’s Leave the World Behind, starring Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, and Mahershala Ali, at number two. Having spent four weeks in the top ten, this apocalypse thriller has amassed 34.6m hours of viewership, showcasing the enduring popularity of end-of-the-world stories.
We have another Julia Roberts entry in the list at number three. The Richard Gere and Roberts classic romcom Pretty Woman, has climbed into the top three with 16.6 hours of watch time.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget takes the fourth spot, with 14m hours viewed. With a runtime of 1 hour and 42 minutes, this animated delight continues to charm audiences with its feathered protagonists. The fifth position is claimed by The Super Mario Bros. Movie, now in its fifth week in the top ten.
Adam Sandler and Bill Burr-voiced animated film Leo, at number six. The other animated flick on the list, The Boss Baby: Family Business, takes up the ninth spot.
The seventh position goes to Top Gun: Maverick, the adrenaline-pumping sequel starring Tom Cruise, which has accumulated 13.4m hours of viewing in its first week on Netflix.
As we round out the top ten, Sniper: Ultimate Kill and Sniper: Assassin’s End secure the eighth and tenth positions, respectively, demonstrating the continued interest in action-packed narratives.
