‘Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85’ is returning to Netflix with a second season
The Hawkins Investigators Club is far from done with mystery-solving as they’re set to return this fall to Netflix with a follow-up season of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85.
You heard it right! Netflix has officially renewed the beloved animated series, set in the Stranger Things universe, following its successful debut at number seven in its weekly top 10 shows chart.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 has already set a benchmark of its own, having secured its place in the top 15 animated series debuts of all time. Now, with a second season confirmed, it’s safe to say that the Netflix audience is poised to witness showbiz history.
In the debut season of the hit Netflix animated series, the Hawkins gang, comprising Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Nikki, unmasked a terrifying mystery terrorising their town. So, when Tales from ’85 returns with a follow-up this fall, viewers can expect the gang to take on yet another dangerous mission head-on.
Just in case that makes you curious, the perils aren’t exactly reinventing themselves. Instead, they’re culminating season-wise to build up the kind of danger we haven’t seen before. In a conversation with Tudum, showrunner Eric Robles, who produces the show through Flying Bark Productions, clarified that the seasons of Tales from ’85 are not isolated or self-contained. “They’re very much connected [to each other].”
“Working on season one has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Now that it’s out in the world, seeing fans connect with these characters – whether they’ve loved them for years or are just meeting them for the first time – has been truly special. I’m excited to continue the journey,” Robles continued.
“We’re thrilled to return to the winter of ’85 for season two. The Hawkins Investigators Club is back, and a new paranormal threat has emerged from the town’s abandoned silver mines. I can’t wait for fans to discover where this entity and the mysterious blue flower we last saw blooming in the Upside Down at the end of season one take our young heroes,” Robles teased.
For those unaware, Robles also executive produces Tales from ’85 alongside the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt on behalf of Upside Down Pictures, Shawn Levy for 21 Laps and Dan Cohen.
Although Netflix has yet to confirm the release date for the second season of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, the show is gearing up for its fall return and is most likely to hit shelves in the last quarter of 2026. But until the confirmation arrives, stay tuned for additional updates!
