'Stranger Things' season four confirms a shocking twist in Upside Down

The second volume of Stranger Things season four will premiere on Netflix on July 1st, 2022. After the exhilarating first volume comprising seven episodes, the final volume will likely be “more violent” as confirmed by the showrunners, the Duffer brothers.

To add to the growing fan anticipation, Netflix has been releasing small clues and hints all over social media, pointing out various details that fans might have missed. One such shocking Upside Down twist has been a mind-boggling revelation for fans.

On their official Twitter account, Netflix pointed out a hidden detail in the seventh episode of the first volume of the fourth season. During a stand-off between Eleven and Henry Creel, played by Millie Bobby Brown and Jamie Campbell Bower respectively.

In the episode titled The Massacre at Hawkins, the characters are seen standing in Hawkin’s Lab as a part of Eleven’s flashbacks. The walls are painted with rainbow stripes.

While viewers are busy fixating on their fight, they might not have noticed that the rainbow in the background is painted in a reverse manner. As Netflix captions it, “When you spot that the rainbow behind him was UpSiDe DoWn…”

This could indicate a variety of things, including Creel being stuck in Upside Down all the time even before his transformation into Vecna.

Starring Brown, Bower, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer and Matthew Modine among others, the final two episodes in the second volume will likely be brutal and explosive. Brenner’s ominous voice-over pervades the trailer as he says, “I know you’re frightened, you’re terribly frightened by what you’ve seen, but I’m not gonna lie to you, your friends are not prepared for this fight. Hawkins will fall”.

Whether Eleven will be able to save her friends is something that we are all looking forward to witnessing.
