Stephen Graham to star in new crime thriller, 'Bodies'

The contemporary British acting sensation, Stephen Graham, will be starring in a brand new crime thriller for Netflix titled Bodies.

The eight-part crime series follows an unsolved murder that stretches across the course of two centuries, with Graham taking a starring role in the new project.

Outlining a thrilling tale, the official synopsis reads, “Four different detectives are trying to solve the murder in different time periods: 1890s overachiever Edmond Hillinghead, dashing 1940s adventurer Karl Whiteman, kickass female 2010s Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan, and Maplewood, an amnesiac from post-apocalyptic 2050, who brings a haunting perspective. Together, the four set out to uncover a conspiracy spanning 150 years.”

Adapted from the Si Spencer graphic novel of the same name, the series is being produced by the same minds behind Peaky Blinders, so fans are hoping it will be able to recreate some of its stylish magic.

From his appearance in the Elton John biopic Rocketman to his inclusion in Martin Scorsese’s epic The Irishman, Stephen Graham is truly an actor right at the height of his success. Although he may be enjoying a strong stint in film, his career began in TV in everything ranging from the soaps Coronation Street and The Bill to Shane Meadows’ wildly successful This is England series.

His triumph on the small screen has continued in his modern career, appearing alongside Sean Bean in the recent prison drama Time, as well as in the culturally influential Peaky Blinders, where he has been rubbing shoulders with Cillian Murphy.
