The creator confirmed the same in a tweet saying, “This miniseries is a modern remix of some of the most iconic works of Edgar Allan Poe.”

He continued, “To tell this epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy, we have assembled the largest ensemble cast in the history of Intrepid Pictures.”

Besides Hamill, the cast will also include Frank Langella, Mary McDonnell, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas and Carl Lumbly among others

Langella will be seen as the titular Roderick Usher, the “towering patriarch of the Usher dynasty,” while McDonnell will be seen as his twin sister Madeline who is “the hidden hand of the Usher dynasty”.

While it has been confirmed that Lumbly will be seen as Poe’s legendary detective C Auguste Dupin, Flanagan has not declared the names of the other roles yet.

The series will commence production soon and will have a very different aesthetic when compared to the previous works of Flanagan.

This eigh-episode miniseries, is, according to Flanagan, “something we’ve actually never done before” with different elements “tonally”, “thematically”.
