‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ has been renewed for season two

The Netflix show Squid Game: The Challenge, based on the South Korean thriller drama of the same name, has been renewed for a second season, following a successful debut on the streaming service.

The show is a reality TV version of the original series that arrived on Netflix back in 2021. The Challenge was released this year and sees contestants compete in similar challenges from the drama series for the chance to win a huge fortune.

The show has been renewed for a second season even though a number of contestants have threatened to file a lawsuit against Netflix after suffering injuries during production.

Slade of Express Solicitors said in a statement, “Contestants thought they were taking part in something fun, and those injured did not expect to suffer as they did. Now they have been left with injuries after spending time being stuck in painful stress positions in cold temperatures.”

He added, “We recognise people may see this as a classic David and Goliath battle with the company and its production partners. We have a case where someone complains of hypothermia. One had his hands turn purple from the cold.”

No lawsuit has yet been filed against Netflix, and the threat of one has not been enough to dissuade the streaming service from producing another season of the show.
