‘Squid Game’ makes giant leap in Netflix historical charts
You never really know what hits the right chord with the viewers. While they may surf the Netflix chessboards similarly, no viewer is truly one and the same. But Squid Game? It was always cut out for glory. And even with the painful reminder that the game is over, the drama is far from done making history.
Despite having passed two weeks since the Squid Game season three release, it is the number one non-English show in every country available. Season three has reportedly garnered another 46.3million views, inching the instalment towards a one-of-a-kind milestone. In fact, the latest season is currently Netflix’s third-biggest series ever in the two-week time frame.
Squid Game season three now has 106.3million views across the globe. It has climbed up to the third position on Netflix’s most popular non-English Shows chart of all time. All three Squid Game instalments now sit in the top three.
When the drumrolls were clamouring about the release of season three, the first two seasons quietly snuck into the weekly top ten non-English shows Netflix chart. The top ten chart now has Squid Game season three at number one, followed by season two, and season three, with 4.9million and 3.8million views respectively.
The survival drama is officially the third show ever to secure the first three spots within a week. The sci-fi supernatural drama, Stranger Things and the action-packed heist thriller, Money Heist. But Squid Game is the first and only one to achieve this since 2022.
Before this, Squid Game season three shattered the most-viewed record for a show in three days with 60.1million views. The previous seasons were also on their upswing on the top ten charts. By the looks of it, season three can only be outranked by season two and season one.
But then again, this is just the beginning. The forecast says fans are still not over the twists and turns of this dystopian thriller, and understandably so.
