The animated sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has taken the Netflix charts by storm, securing the fourth spot in the global top ten Netflix films chart with an impressive 20.1million hours viewed in one week. In the United States, it has claimed the number one spot on the top ten Netflix US films list.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse continues the story of Miles Morales, who takes up the mantle of Spider-Man in a shared multiverse known as the Spider-Verse. The screenplay, crafted by the dynamic duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who also produced the film alongside David Callaham, takes the audience on a breathtaking journey through the multiverse.

The film boasts an all-star voice cast with Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Brian Tyree Henry as Jeff Morales, and Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales. The movie introduces a slew of new characters, including Jason Schwartzman’s Johnathon Ohnn, aka the Spot, a former scientist turned supervillain with interdimensional portal powers.

Karan Soni brings life to Pavitr Prabhakar, or Spider-Man India, who wields a yo-yo as his primary weapon and resides in the bustling Mumbattan. Daniel Kaluuya takes on the persona of Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk, an electrifying version of Spider-Man with a penchant for punk rock and a guitar for a weapon. Mahershala Ali voices Aaron Davis, the Earth-42 version of Miles’ uncle. Oscar Isaac lends his voice to Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, a futuristic web-slinger with a distinct personality.
