The full soundtrack to Jeff Goldblum’s new Netflix series ‘Kaos’

A new comedy series based on Greek mythology has just been released on Netflix called Kaos, with Jeff Goldblum starring alongside the likes of David Thewlis, Janet McTeer, Suzie Eddie Izzard, and Billie Piper.

The show features eight episodes and sees Goldblum play Zeus, who worries that the end is near after he discovers a forehead wrinkle. As he grapples with this possibility, several humans find their world changed by the influence of the Gods and each other.

Talking to Netflix, Goldblum explained, “My character is complicated and charismatic, not to mention cruel. Charlie Covell’s writing leapt off the page and struck my gizzard like a lightning bolt as something spectacularly smart, surprising, unexpected, profound, and deeply moving.”

According to McTeer, who plays Zeus’ wife, Hera, the series is a metaphorical exploration of those incredibly rich figures who exploit their power at the expense of ‘normal’ people. “It’s so brutal. It’s about the 1%, which is what I think the gods are. They will do anything for their own pleasure. They don’t care what it costs people or the Earth.”

Covell previously created the popular series The End of the F***ing World, which was distributed by Netflix after it was initially created with Channel 4. While they have written each episode, direction has been handled by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo.

Fans have already been loving the use of popular music within the show, with everything from Siouxsie and the Banshees to Enya, Anna Calvi, ABBA, Fatboy Slim, and David Bowie soundtracking the drama caused by the chaotic Greek Gods.

There is also a sequence in which Killian Scott’s character, Orpheus, performs a gig. He sings an original song called ‘Eurydice’, which can be found on the soundtrack and appears in both episodes one and three.
