Secret code brings up all of Netflix's crime documentaries

In a new twist on optimising their search function, Netflix has added a little Easter egg for fans of crime documentaries as they have provided a secret code which, when entered, brings up all of Netflix’s gruesome titles in that genre for your perusal.

While it’s not exactly a revolutionary tact, it does bring a small smile to people’s faces which, when considered within the context of a global pandemic that has seen us unable to connect with family or friends for months on end, is surely a worthwhile thing.

Netflix is looking to introduce plenty of different tricks of the trade in future updates as the streaming platform aims to gain some ground on the mammoth expansion of Disney +. In recent weeks, Disney + has outstripped Netflix to become the biggest streaming platform on the planet.

Disney has used a hefty dose of classic and new titles to bring in new subscribers and with not only the Marvel collection but Star Wars, The Simpsons and Pixar all part of the package it’s easy to see how it has grown so quickly. However, Netflix is still pushing fun and creative ways to engage its audience.

One such way is by introducing small but enjoyable moments like this. Inputting the secret code (pssst… it’s 9875) into the streaming platform, one can find all of Netflix’s crime documentaries in one place.

Inputting the code will take you to this page, where you can find a whole host of impressive titles including Murder Among the Mormons, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, and Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
